If you've never used it before, it's pretty much hybrid between an "ebay" and "elance." People post "gigs" that they're willing to do for $5 (like post a video testimonial, write a press release, hold a sign up in Times Square with your name on it, call someone as a celebrity on his/her birthday, etc.). You get the idea. I had someone create this movie intro for my sister's toy store for $5—the guy got it back to me within two hours (though they don't always promise THAT!). Nook Color Android hacks are being sold on eBay

"Hacking or rooting the Barnes & Noble Nook Color has become a commercial venture for some, and that has plenty of Android enthusiasts calling foul.

In recent days folks on eBay have started selling hacks for the Nook Color pre-installed on microSD cards, which start around $60 for 4GB cards and work their way upwards. Installing one of the cards in the Nook Color's microSD slot allows users to override Barnes & Noble's 'closed' Android-based Nook firmware with an open Android system that supports running a multitude of Android apps. 'Modders' have been 'porting' various 'rooted' versions of the Android OS to the Nook Color, including a preview version of Honeycomb (Android 3.0), which is designed for tablets. This has made the affordable though slightly underpowered Nook Color ($250) a popular item with Android enthusiasts who don't want to shell out bigger money for true Android tablets like the $799 Motorola Xoom.

Over at the Android Police Will Shanklin was dismayed at the turn of events. He urged readers not to pay money for a Nook Color SD card that runs Honeycomb.

CNET gives Kodak Zi8 Pocket Cam high marks

This is the pocket cam that NerdBoyTV uses. Very nice HD 1080 video capability. Used it at the 2011 SAP Tennis Open in San Jose and got some very nice clips of Pete Sampras playing an exhibition match. A little thicker than most other pocket cams, but it's definitely a keeper. Retails for a couple hundred, but I found a perfectly good refurbished one on ebay for $96 (out the door with no tax and no shipping fee). Can't really beat THAT!

Tech: "You'd think a recession would be a gold mine for the world's biggest dealer of used, cheap, and semi-functional junk, but it seems that even eBay, one of the stalwarts of the Internet economy and a heralded survivor of the early-2000s dot-com bust, is mortal after all.

Facing a sobering reality that traffic and revenue is on the decline (revenue fell 16 percent in the fourth quarter for eBay's 'marketplace' business), the company is trying to figure out where it goes from here. Since taking over from Meg Whitman, CEO John Donahoe has been banging the drum, trying to convince the world that eBay is no longer the world's flea market and has toes in all manner of industries -- including Paypal and Skype -- but none of that rhetoric has stuck. Now, eBay is finally admitting that some of its more recent endeavors just haven't panned out, and the company is now planning to refocus on what it's always been known for best: The 'secondary market [that] includes the used and vintage goods that the company is already known for selling, as well as clearance and out-of-season items.'
